Newly Wed Ricky Kim To Co-star With Yunho In HTTG

Born to an American father and a Korean mother, actor Ricky Kim will be participating in MBC’s new drama “Heading To The Ground”, which will be his first drama after he got married.
On 4th May, Ricky Kim became a newly wed with musical actress Ryu Seung Joo. He will be co-starring with TVXQ’s Yunho (U-know) in “Heading To The Ground” as the English player Maxim, in the Pro-soccer Team [FC IN YOU].
This is Ricky Kim’s first participation in dramas in 1 year and 4 months after he completed SBS’ “On Air” last year in May.
“Heading To The Ground” starts on the 9th.

[Lawsuit] TVXQ’s Japanese Income Division; Each Member Received “150 million Won”

An argument that five member group TVXQ, who are currently in a legal dispute with their agency over their exclusive contract and inexact income divisions, earns an extremely low income from their Japanese activities has been put forth.
An influential acquaintance of the three members who are locked in this legal dispute (YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu) stated, “The amount of money TVXQ has earned from when they started their Japanese activities in 2005 till now is a little over 150 million Won per member.”
This is the first time TVXQ’s Japanese activity income division has been referred to in detail.
He explained the income division process in detail saying, “A portion of the money TVXQ earns from their Japanese activities goes to their Japanese agency Avex, and some of it goes to SM Japan. The rest goes to SM Entertainment. Therefore, the members receive only an extremely small portion of the overall income.”
He also added, “SM Entertainment owns more than 90% of SM Japan’s quota and is the parent company of SM Japan,” and conspired that, “Another controversy arises of their Japanese income division because of this.” He stated that, “Since the members have never seen the actual Japanese contract, they have no clue of how the income division is going on between the agencies and are feeling very frustrated with the situation.”
SM Entertainment owns 93.5% of SM Japan’s quota
Actually, according to the quarterly report SM released in May, SM Entertainment owns 93.5% of SM Japan’s quota (On March 31st).
Even the Civil Society Organization has pointed out that there are problems in the way SM Entertainment divides and calculates the income.
Lee Dong-yeon, professor at the Korean National University of Arts, stated, “The money TVXQ earns from their Japanese activities is first divided by Avex and SM Japan who co-manage the group by 50% each, then SM and SM Japan split the money SM Japan got by 50% each. Therefore, TVXQ only receives a small portion of 1/4 of their income, not a portion of their entire income”.
At the debate that was on the prompt ‘The Problems Regarding the Korean Entertainment Management System Revealed Through the TVXQ Dispute and the Solutions To These Problems’, Professor Lee said, “It can be said that SM Japan and SM Entertainment are basically one company therefore SM Entertainment is using this to acquire twice the amount of money they should be getting from TVXQ’s Japanese income.”
Professor Lee also stated that, “It can easily be seen that we obviously cannot say that TVXQ and SM Entertainment have a fair and just contract agreement when carefully reading through the fine print of the contract and taking into consideration TVXQ’s income division and the preposterous amount SME claims they spend on managing TVXQ (In truth, most of this money is actually not included in the income division.)”
On a side note, it has been found that SME did not adhere to the Preservation of Evidence Request that the three TVXQ members filed that was accepted by the Courts. This Preservation of Evidence Request includes all documents relevant to TVXQ’s activities that would help calculate TVXQ’s actual income that include account books, receipts, transfer slips, etc.
On the 21st, the Seoul District Courts asked SME at the first hearing to hand in all documents relevant to the trial, but SME did not follow through.
SME’s lawyer stated before that, “These documents are all company secrets, and it would be fatal to SME if they were released to the media.”

Hero & Micky Buying Hello Kitty Products and Enjoying Japanese Food

For Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary, Jaejoong and Yoochun will be composing a theme song. Currently, only Takashimaya (T/N: a high-end famous department store in Japan) is selling the 35th anniversary special products and it is being offered for a limited time.
Before the launch, the company went to a Japanese rice restaurant where they gathered to enjoy the food. The store was open to them and they were warmly welcomed to their designated area. The food arrived quickly and then they were off. Afterwards, they went to buy Hello Kitty products such as 4 red, 2 green, 4 pink and 6 yellow (the dolls). However, there were no purple Hello Kitty products. The sales clerk said the product was not available because it’s very popular~!

TVXQ’s Second Japanese CM + Pinky Updates

According to the Korean media, the group TVXQ, who’s having a dispute with their agency, will be having their second Japanese CM. Last July, there were chosen to be the endorser of the Japanese health drink, Oronamic C (with Ueto Aya). With this CM, they had made their debut in the Japanese CM industry.
This September, the group will be featured in a new CM under Pinky.
The Pinky CM is to be split into two different versions. THSK would be singing the CM’s bgm, “Endless Sweetness” and on the 23rd, it will be released as a digital single.
Pinky’s official website, pinky.jp, would be airing the new CM on the 7th of September.

[Lawsuit] Idols Afflicted By Long-term Contract

A round up of the court case against SM Entertainment
Coverage for the past 1 month disbandment crisis issue for Korean male group, TVXQ. Shouldering the responsibility of bringing attention to Korean music, and taking on the role as the Stars of Asia, with their singing ability and diverse dances in K-POP. [Seoul Nishiwaki Shiniti, Nakayama Hiroshi]
According to the Korean media reports on the disbandment crisis, 3 out of 5 members filed for a provisional disposition with the Seoul Central District Court, against their company, seeking to terminate their exclusive long-term contract.
“Used as a tool by the company to the point of exhaustion”,”The 13 year exclusive contract is actually a life-long contract” — Yuchun (23), Junsu (22) and Jejung (23), in a document presented by their lawyers, said that their plight is a long and winding road. It has been 5 years since their debut in 2004, and they criticized the “one-sided schedule management” and long-term exclusive contract.
Also, it was exposed that up to February this year, that only if their album sales hit over 500,000 copies, will they be paid 10,000,000 Won (roughly ¥750,000) each when they release their next album.
Their company argued that they “have been in the red since their debut. The revenue division have also been amended and even gave them luxury cars as a bonus”, and that they will have no group schedules planned in Korea for now.
This lawsuit also affected the company’s stock prices, and representatives of the fans said that “the office is violating the human rights of the members”, and a petition battle took place outside the National Human Rights Commission where they collected 120,000 signatures and submitted the petition to the National Human Rights Commission.
A Seoul entertainment reporter explained that, “There are many cases in Korea where idols are made to sign over 10 year contracts with their companies.” Talents that can sell and are independent frequently change management companies. However, for “idols”, they will age, and as their 2 years of compulsory military service is not included in the contract, this 13 year contract is more like a “lifetime contract”.
On 21 August, on the first day of the proceedings at the Seoul Central District Court, the court recommended settlement. Both parties “do not want them to disband”. The entertainment reporter from previously also said, “The earnings from Japan is complicated and the chances of disbandment is 7 to 3.” (T/N: Unsure about this particular line)
So far, Tohoshinki have a record of having 6 of their works on the top spot of the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking. The first foreign artist with so many successful number ones.
Hazime Katsu, an entertainment reporter, said, “Tohoshinki’s existence in Japan is something like SMAP. They had a sudden explosion of popularity in Japan even though their relationship with their company turned sour, and I was surprised to hear that the Korean management is so streamlined.”
Tohoshinki’s management company in Japan, AVEX Entertainment, said in a press release that, “from what the Korean side said, ‘basically (3 of) the members and the law firms have said that they will carry out their Japanese activities.’”

SS501 Being Asked About TVXQ’s ‘Disbanding’ Rumours

SS501 members consist of Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Jong. They arrived 31 Aug in Sabah’s Kota Kinabalu for some music video shootings.
SS501 made use of some spare time to have meet up with the medias (PressCon) and autograph signing session. This is the first time that SS501 has their event in Malaysia.
MC: It’s rumored that DBSK are disbanding. With the current rising popularity of SS501, there is a high chance of replacing DBSK to be the most popular group in Korea. As both groups (DBSK and SS501) belong to 2 different managing company, SS501 didn’t reply to this question.

"Heavenly Postman” Telecinema To Screen In September

Click for full sizeThe Korean-Japan Telecinema have garnered attention as it will hit the screens of cinemas in September.
The television broadcasting company Samhwa Networks collaborated with 7 popular television series scriptwriters and Hallyu stars.
The telecinema, which consists of 7 parts, will have it’s first screening on 18 September, in Seoul (T/N: University’s Name) Auditorium.
The 7-part telecinema, which includes “Heavenly Postman” which was co-starred by TVXQ member Hero Jaejoong and Hallyu idol Han Hyo Joo, started filming in October last year until now, and most of the filming and editing have been wrapped up. Under the watchful eyes of people from Korea, Japan and South-East Asia, the first cut screening was also held.
With the airing of this telecinema, it will cause the fans of Hallyu in Japan, South East Asia and Asia to go wild again.

The CEO of CREBEAU cosmetics company, Kang Seok-won met SM representative Kim Young-min on the 4th at Seoul central district prosecution office for defamation issue has been accused to SM.
Earlier on the 2nd, he met reporters at the company headquarter in Seocho, Seoul. “The case here is about the long-term distribution contract that reveals an unfair distribution income. However, SM Entertainment distorted the nature of dispute and pointed our company as the main cause.” He puked a resentment.
“Since last July, SM requested a content certification by fact-checking the investment information about DBSK members who invest in our company. The members are only investors. There’s no such intellectual property involved in which SM has been concerning about. We have enough stated our position without distorting the truth. The announcement about members’ investment information has been passed.”
This is what DBSK members’ investment is about. According to Kang Seok-won on the 4th, each member invested about 70 million, 60 million, and 40 million won. Simply by seeing from the equity ratio, they won’t be able to participate in company’s management.
Kang explained further, “SM officials had visited our office in China twice last May for the purpose of investigating pictures rights that are used on the product sold. Those (SM) people need to cross check their facts and stop distorting the nature of the case. It’s an irrelevant asserts and they’ll only find faults in their investigation.”
About the rumor that ‘members investing in cosmetics business was allowed by SM’, Kang said, “The members said directly themselves, ‘if we’re not allowed to invest here, there won’t be any possibility of us to invest at all.’”

We already know the rumors that there were several TV appearances being offered to you. Among them, why did you choose “Heading To The Ground?”Those rumors about drama offerings were spread through media articles. Honestly, just when I read those articles, I was like, “Oh, I got offered for this drama?” (laughs). In fact, personal activity of each member has been already decided since last year after Tokyo Dome activities ended. I got work for “Heading To The Ground”. At that time I thought, “I got lack of skills in here, but I want to do it.”
At first, I was attracted to the drama title. Then I read the synopsis, it got to my heart. We have already taken enough honest scenes for the drama. Yet I’m still giving more efforts to show you the better appearance of me, even more.”
At the teasers that were released, there’s a kissing scene with Lee Yoon-ji. We’re curious about the shooting session of that scene.
It was a CPR, but somehow looks like kissing scene. Ooh, the viewers might get the wrong idea (laughs). Actually I was trembled almost all day even the day before the (kissing scene) shooting taken. In all my previous variety programs, I never had touched someone else lips, therefore I was thinking what would I do if I got trembled all the way. However, when we had that shooting, Yoon-ji is really friendly and comfortable, just like a friend of mine, so we could finish that scene quickly.
Being casted as a football player, are you originally interested in any kind of sports?I like playing football. But in the middle of shooting, it’s not really about defeat and being defeated. In this kind of football drama, the most important thing is to show the professional look of you as football player. When I watched the recording released today, I look good and I was satisfied (laughs).
The preparation time for absorbing the character is really short. At which part you have lack satisfaction in it?Especially at the scene in where I have no experience about. There was a scene when I was caught and handcuffed for being a non-legal residence, I’ve never been in such kind of situation so I left my imagination to lead me how am I supposed to react.
Cha Bong-gun is a cute role. He’s a nice kid, passionate, and explosive. Oh, and he’s not smart (laughs). That’s why in some parts in where I feel like experiencing it, I’m trying to express it naturally. Rather than try to act well, I’d like to be a very good soccer player as possible just like what I have impression about Cha Bong-gun in my mind, I want to show such kind of impression. Therefore the viewers can purely enjoy all the scenes.
When the drama starts to air, there must be a lot of criticisms appearing in media. Have you prepared for it?I think I should take it for granted. It’s similar when I first made my debut (as singer), I let people to grow their feelings on me. Criticisms and warm support, they actually seem to be the same good things. For the sake of “Heading To The Ground”, I have to worry anything at all.
If you would give yourself a score?I’m already expecting this question. When I was watching the teaser video back then, I was like “Ooo.. what’s that..” so maybe it’s around 50 points? (laughs). I could not reveal anything yet, and debating about my acting right now seems to be cocky. I hope all of you can look deeply in what I had been talking to you. I’m just trying to raise my score bit by bit from 0 points.

The power of TVXQ has saved the staff of HTTG from shelling out 200 million Won to film the drama.
MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday miniseries (Written by Kim Solji, Directed by Park Sungsoo) stars TVXQ’s leader Jung Yunho (U-Know Yunho) as the lead role. On August 31st, approximately 4000 fans flocked to the Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium for the open filming of to cheer Jung Yunho on. Usually, extras are paid 50,000 to 60,000 Won per person ($40~$48) and to fill the stadium with extras would have cost the staff of the drama 200 million Won. However, they did not have to pay this amount of money thanks to TVXQ fans.
One representative of stated, “It is an absolute must to have a scene that shows soccer fans cheering in which revolves around soccer. Thanks to the fact that we casted Jung Yunho in this drama, we don’t have to worry about paying extras. Because the fans have diligently created various cheers for TVXQ during their concerts, they were complete pros when it came to cheering. We didn’t need to guide them at all.“
The filming for that day was a special event to commemorate the opening of ’s homepage. TVXQ fans came as early as 3 to 4 hours before filming started and waited. U-know: Unable to sleep the night before “kissing scene”

According to report from Korean media, there will be a kissing scene of UKnow YunHo with ex-make believe wife of Super Junior KangIn from MBC variety show <>, Lee YoonJi.
MBC new drama <> which set to air on the 9th September, held its 1st press conference at Seoul Hyatt Hotel. Jung YunHo, Go Ara, Lee YoonJi, Lee SangSoon, etc attended.

What will happen to TVXQ?
Jung Yunho: Honestly speaking, I can’t say anything as of now, but more than anything, I wish that everything will be resolved well and rationally.
Honestly, isn’t it difficult for it to be solved successfully?
Jung Yunho: I don’t understand why people continue to think negatively. (laugh) In fact, there has been a lot of ugly rumors recently. So even if the problem can be solved well, there are times when I also think negatively because of the rumors. I hope no one would believe in those.
“TVXQ members support me a lot”
Did the members give any words of support or advice regarding your drama appearance?
Jung Yunho: When shooting a drama, many of the filming takes place all night long, so we often share stories through texting. “Yah, If you don’t do well, you’ll get in big trouble.” They send these types of messages. Also, since I would see all the members at home, they would ask, “Did you do well today? How was it?” When I answered by saying, “Since it was my first time I was very nervous, but I’m working really hard so watch over me with a positive view,” they would reply “Okay, we will.” These are some things, but they often support me by saying that they wish the drama will become a success.
Thoughts on filming your first drama?
Jung Yunho: I lived as a singer for five years, but it’s my first time acting. It’s new and fun. I feel as though I’m growing together with the drama. I also feel that working on one project with the director and writer itself is a life study.
It is known that there have been many dramas in which you had the choice to choose from. What would be a reason why you chose ?
Jung Yunho: I also found out from a news article about the rumored liaison for the drama. Truthfully, when I saw the article, I said, “Uh, I’m doing this drama?” (laugh) The members’ individual solo activities were matters determined last year to be after the Tokyo Dome concert. During vacation, I happened to see the script and I thought, “Even though I lack experience, I really want to do this.” I was at first attracted to the title, then when I read the synopsis, I really had the heart to do it. We’re filming right now and honestly there are a lot of parts where I’m insufficient. However, I’m putting a lot of effort to show a better performance, so I hope people will watch over me with a positive view .
“Because of the love for soccer, we do shoot-outs during filming”
In , Jung Yunho got out of his idol image by exposing his upper body as well as having a kiss scene.
What were your thoughts when meeting Director Park Sung Soo?
Jung Yunho: He was more of a neighbor hyung than a director. He gave the impression of an older cousin. We were similar in that we didn’t give up even after experiencing several life-threatening situations. I have several scars on my face and body. I received a lot of severe injuries during my lifetime. Also before debut when I came up to Seoul from Gwang-ju, while doing part-time jobs alone, there were times when I had to sleep outside. Since all the hard times went by, from now on, I hope there will only be good times.
The kiss scene between Lee Yoon Ji, who plays the character Yeoni, has been revealed; what are your thoughts about the scene?
Jung Yunho: The scene was of a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, not a kiss scene. Oh, the viewers will misunderstand. (laugh) More than anything, honestly, the day before the shooting I was very nervous before going to sleep. There has never been a time when my lip touched someone else’s whether it be during drama or variety programs. I even thought about what would happen if I were to freeze. But when we started filming, Yoon Ji noona did it comfortably like a real friend so we were able to finish it quickly.
You appear as a soccer player in the drama, did you always have a lot of interest in sports?
Jung Yunho: I normally really like soccer. Since the director also likes soccer, we do shoot-outs even during filming, but we haven’t decided the result for the game yet. In the drama, I have to portray a character who’s a professional soccer player, not just a person who enjoys playing soccer, so I would often be worried on whether I would be able to do it. But when I saw the revealed clip today, I think I hit it better than I thought I would, so I’m satisfied. (laugh)
In the released video clips, there are a lot of scenes where you’re exposing the upper body. Do you plan on showing more masculine appearances in the drama?
Jung Yunho: First, I was pretty shocked myself, because even though I wasn’t ready, there were a few scenes where I had to take off my clothes. (laugh) If I had known, I would’ve shown a better performance.

It is known that you haven’t had a lot of time to prepare for your character. When do you feel that your own acting skills are insufficient?
Jung Yunho: I feel that way especially whenever we film scenes that I haven’t experienced before. There was a scene where I had to have handcuffs on, but I didn’t know what emotions I had to put on in this situation since I’ve never been caught while doing something bad. It’s also something that can’t be done with only imagination. In a way, the role of Cha Bong Goon can be seen as a cute kid, or as a charismatic kid, and a highly motivated kid who believes in his instinct. Ah, but he’s not smart. (laugh) So in some parts, I feel that he and I are similar, so I’m trying to express it as it is. Although it’s a lot less than my urge to do better in acting, but from within the limit, I want to show Cha Bong Goon’s will to do better in soccer, my will to do better in acting. But above that, I think it’s most important to deliver the heart that is able to enjoy.
As much as you’ve officially started acting, the words of people’s criticisms will also rise. Are you ready for this?
Jung Yunho: I think that these things are natural. It was also the same when we debuted, because there were people who criticized; I was able to grow and mature. And only in this moment I will be afflicted with the growing sickness, I believe all remarks are made out of interest and concern. Criticisms are always welcomed, and if you send a warm supporting message along with it, it’ll be great. Also if those criticisms are for the sake of then I’m not worried at all.
If you had to give a score to your own acting?
Jung Yunho: Today was the better one. When I saw the teaser clips, I thought, “Ugh, what am I going to do,” but when I saw today’s, I think I’d give it around 50 points. (laugh) It’s only the beginning, so I think it’s impudent to argue back and forth regarding my acting. Teachers and seniors said that acting becomes more profound and broad-minded as you do more of it. I’m going to raise my score up slowly and orderly starting from 0.

The first impression of MBC new drama series “Heading To The Ground” PD Park Sung-soo towards the debut actor U-Know Yunho (real name Jung Yunho), “I didn’t even recognize that he’s TVXQ.”
August 2nd at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hannam-dong, Seoul, the head PD of ‘Manddang’ PD Park Sung-soo attending the drama conference said, “Seriously, at our first meeting there wasn’t any impression of Asian star, idol singer within him at all. Thanks to Jung Yunho’s group, there’s awakening awareness towards the drama.”
“Already living in Seoul for 10 years of mature experiences, we talk a lot to each other and feel kinship between us. He’s a friend who knows the hardship and fun of life, I feel thankful to have a chance to produce drama with this kind of friend.”
As an idol and TVXQ member, no matter (staffs) trying to hide about the shooting scene, everything will come out to public in the end. At every shooting spots, there are always more than 100 fans gathering. Regarding this, PD Lee Dae-hee responded, “Yunho’s fans on the shooting sites are very nice and obedient to our rules. To the recording itself, they’re not threatening at all.”
Yunho ever mentioned to PD Park Sung-soo that once he was homeless in Seoul. “Going alone from Gwangju to Seoul, I believe he had been suffering a lot of troubles. Being homeless, and had a hard job as well.” he said. Then he explained about the character Cha Bon-gun “He (Bong-gun) also already passed close to death experiences several times in his life such as falling from 4th floor of a church, yet never once gave up, in this term, they seems to have a lot of alikeness.”
The PD continued about the plan of his drama, “I’d like to create a drama where audiences can make a new interpretation about popular sympathy towards one human being.”
“Heading To The Ground”, about a player named Cha Bong-gun who can’t help but quit his football after his club was closed down, but after he meets the passionate agent Kang Hae-bin (Go Ara), he starts to draws his football back.
20 episodes, “Heading To The Ground”’s ‘Night Special Issue’ pilot episode will broadcast on September 9th.

This time, THSK performed “Doushi.te” and seven other songs that were on the Oricon Charts. They used all their effort in singing each song live and they wowed everyone with their powerful dance moves. They not only captivated the ladies, but also the men who were watching.
Leader Yunho actually sprained his ankle one week ago. After some needle therapy (acupuncture, perhaps?), he insited on going up the stage to give everyone the best performance and powerful dance moves. He was such a great role model that the other four members were doing even better. This attracted the audience even more!

U-Know Yunho of TVXQ said, “Everything related to the work of TVXQ, I hope they can be settled down amicably. There are a lot of negative rumors which should not be believed.”
August 2nd, 2 p.m at Seoul Grand Hyatt Hotel for MBC ‘Heading To The Ground’ show conference, Yunho said, “I’m not able to tell you anything right now, but basically I’m hoping everything to be resolved amicably in rational way.” This is the first time he said a comment regarding TVXQ legal case.
“When I was doing a late night drama shooting, I received many cheerful text messages from the members, saying ‘Do your best.’ or ‘How was your day?’ I got texts like that. “Because this is the first time, I really want to support.” and I’ll answer ‘then please support’” he conveyed the friendship between the members.
Towards all TVXQ related questions, “I don’t know why only the negative rumors that had been spread. A lot of people seem to have negative thoughts. Most vicious rumors on the internet. Whether it’s wrong or not, I think those need to be clarified. Do not believe any negative rumors, and from my side right now, I’m just hoping everything to be solved amicably.” he said in composed.
Meanwhile during this TVXQ hardship period, over last month, Yunho concentrated only for drama shooting. On August 31st, more than 4000 fans gathered at Seoul World Cup Stadium to participate in the drama’s open shooting schedule. Yunho is taking role as the drama-born football player Cha Bong-gun.

The poster of MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Heading to the Ground’, that has garnered much attention due to TVXQ’s Jung Yunho (U-Know Yunho) being cast as the lead role, has been revealed.
The revealed poster shows the main characters Cha Bong-goon (Jung Yunho), Kang Haebin (Ara), Jang Seungwoo (Lee Sangyun) and Oh Yeoni (Lee Yunji) expressing their love and dreams. Jung Yunho’s energetic pose especially expresses his character’s combative spirit very well.
On location, Jung Yunho had to jump and pose countless times to capture the essence of the concept but did not once complain and showed a positive and enthusiastic attitude that drew people’s attention. TVXQ “Wishes For All 5 Members To Attend The End-of-year Music Programmes”

The male group TVXQ has no intention to disband despite the fact that some of their members are in a dispute with their management company. This was reported in the Japanese paper Goodday Sports on the 31st August, when they had an interview with TVXQ after their participation in the “a-nation” concert in Osaka. During the interview, the leader U-know Yunho expressed his wish that “all 5 members can attend the end of the year music programmes”, and there were no signs of any intention to disband. The report said that “TVXQ promised to return with all 5 members, and Xiah Junsu said ‘
Following this all 5 members will continue to do activities together, and we want to grow with our fans’; and rejected the rumours of disbandment.Hero Jaejoong, expressed through the interview that he wished to “quickly participate in next year’s a-nation and wanted to show everyone the image of all 5 members on stage having the best time”, and Micky Yoochun said that “in future, we wish to perform more songs for everyone”. These statements were noticed in particular as both members are involved in the dispute with the company.
Although they are currently in a dispute with their company, TVXQ’s Japanese activities are still being continued. They participated in the a-nation concerts that were organized by their Japanese management company. Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun will be releasing a new single on the 30th of this month, as the duet ‘JEJUNG & YUCHUN”. Besides this, TVXQ returned to Korea on the morning of 31st August, and they have no schedules planned in the near future. However, their concert in Shanghai, China, to be held on 2nd October, will carry on as promised previously.

[Lawsuit] “SM unfair contract” Disclosed

TVXQ Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu who had submit a request for the relevant documents for the hearing is on hold, although Seoul district court had accepted the 3 members request to get evidences relating to this hearing, however, it is said from a SM representative, they’re given 20 days in notice to produce all relevant documents which was supposed to be submitted on the 26th, wasn’t submitted.
The 3 members had requested for this, because they felt that these documents would be the best evidences to show their unfair treatment from SM on the 21st August hearing; it was one of the most important evidences. The judge then expressed “after checking through the documents that would submitted on the 26th, we’ll then hold another hearing which would take place 3 weeks later, 11th Sept.”
The relevant documents include THSK activities payment, contract and more, these documents could be used against SM who had claimed that after TVXQ debut of 5years, they had earned up to 498 billion won and however SM has a earning of 1487 billion won, this can be said that the above documents is to check the details of each earning.
During this period, TVXQ fans had found flaws in the sales of the albums, and like the court, the fans are wondering too, how much did TVXQ exactly earn within these 5 years, and this had created quite a stir in the society.
SME accepting this request was difficult too. because if they were to release the said documents which includes SME investment in the trainings etc; it could eventually reveal the methods they had used to train their trainees which they named it as the “top-secret documents”.
Representative had said “SME is a up-trend company, who had compiled all financial status and revealed it to the necessary people, therefore, to give out the information that the 3 members had requested are really tough.”
Majority of the fans expressed that they had been suspicious of the earning of TVXQ during this 5 years. Their earning goes by the sales of album, activities, CF, there’s also SM yearly album, DVD and more which could say that these sales are earning them billions.
fans had submitted a petition on the 28th saying the unfairness of contract had invaded the rights of TVXQ and this had created pressure in SME.
Although TVXQ and SME are having conflicts, and of this money conflict, this created a “reality game”, and in the near future, this war might still continue for a little while more.

TVXQ’s Japanese Income Division; Each Member Received “150 million Won”

Income was divided in the order of Avex-SM Japan-SM-Members… SM Double Acquisition Controversy
An argument that five member group TVXQ, who are currently in a legal dispute with their agency over their exclusive contract and inexact income divisions, earns an extremely low income from their Japanese activities has been put forth.
An influential acquaintance of the three members who are locked in this legal dispute (YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu) stated, “The amount of money TVXQ has earned from when they started their Japanese activities in 2005 till now is a little over 150 million Won per member.”
This is the first time TVXQ’s Japanese activity income division has been referred to in detail.
He explained the income division process in detail saying, “A portion of the money TVXQ earns from their Japanese activities goes to their Japanese agency Avex, and some of it goes to SM Japan. The rest goes to SM Entertainment. Therefore, the members receive only an extremely small portion of the overall income.“
He also added, “SM Entertainment owns more than 90% of SM Japan’s quota and is the parent company of SM Japan,” and conspired that, “Another controversy arises of their Japanese income division because of this.” He stated that, “Since the members have never seen the actual Japanese contract, they have no clue of how the income division is going on between the agencies and are feeling very frustrated with the situation.”

SM Entertainment owns 93.5% of SM Japan’s quota
Actually, according to the quarterly report SM released in May, SM Entertainment owns 93.5% of SM Japan’s quota (On March 31st).
Even the Civil Society Organization has pointed out that there are problems in the way SM Entertainment divides and calculates the income.
Lee Dong-yeon, professor at the Korean National University of Arts, stated, “The money TVXQ earns from their Japanese activities is first divided by Avex and SM Japan who co-manage the group by 50% each, then SM and SM Japan split the money SM Japan got by 50% each. Therefore, TVXQ only receives a small portion of 1/4 of their income, not a portion of their entire income”.
At the debate that was on the prompt ‘The Problems Regarding the Korean Entertainment Management System Revealed Through the TVXQ Dispute and the Solutions To These Problems’, Professor Lee said, “It can be said that SM Japan and SM Entertainment are basically one company therefore SM Entertainment is using this to acquire twice the amount of money they should be getting from TVXQ’s Japanese income.”
Professor Lee also stated that, “It can easily be seen that we obviously cannot say that TVXQ and SM Entertainment have a fair and just contract agreement when carefully reading through the fine print of the contract and taking into consideration TVXQ’s income division and the preposterous amount SME claims they spend on managing TVXQ (In truth, most of this money is actually not included in the income division.)”
On a side note, it has been found that SME did not adhere to the Preservation of Evidence Request that the three TVXQ members filed that was accepted by the Courts. This Preservation of Evidence Request includes all documents relevant to TVXQ’s activities that would help calculate TVXQ’s actual income that include account books, receipts, transfer slips, etc.
On the 21st, the Seoul District Courts asked SME at the first hearing to hand in all documents relevant to the trial, but SME did not follow through.
SME’s lawyer stated before that, “These documents are all company secrets, and it would be fatal to SME if they were released to the media.”

Interview took place 2 hours before their performance.
JeJung laughed and said, “long time no see~!”
In reality, I had an interview with them at July, but during that time they look exhausted…
This time round they were all high in spirit.
During the interview, YunHo and JaeJoong spoke the most. Our conversation lasted for around 20 minutes, they had mentioned a lot from the bottom of their heart, especially for YunHo.
On the first day, YunHo walked around in the resting room uncomfortable, his legs must be in pain.
Expectedly, he injured his right leg.
However he insisted on performing after acupunture.
He smiled and said, “I’m feeling better as compare to yesterday, it’s alright~”
During interview, he also showed his capability as a leader in controlling the members. (Balancing individual, making sure everyone had a chance to speak)
JeJung was in good spirits, keeping a conversation with us excitedly.
When talking about his own charisma [smile…], the rest of them look at him hilariously, which leave a strong impression on me.
ChangMin looks like an adult, very COOL.
While the rest of the members were talking, he always listens joyfully.
He said that his charisma is [sweat], which I’m a little shocked at, but people who is frank is suitable for anything.
As for JunSu, he was more or less steady.
But he starts to get excited half way through the interview. (T/N meaning he is out of control? XD)
After the interview, other than group photo taking, YuChun and JeJung also had their photo taken together for their new single, which was going to release on September. During shooting, their poses were very intimated, looks like they had a close relationship.
What did YuChun said? Ah~ he mentioned that he was there as a “joker”~
He must say something that makes everyone laugh.
He looks very calm before the actual performance… that I admire.
Which means, when JeJung said [wanting to show something new…], YuChun have to cut in with [noodle? Noodle? It’s important that it’s springy~]. (T/N making joke with Japanese words?! I guess]
Then, he have to make eyes contact with others randomly, making many different funny expressions to entertain the audience.
They went on stage, gave a performance that was way beyond standard.
Singing and dancing, were all excellent.
Their strong existence and team spirit were spectacular.
For a moment they manage to bring 5 million audiences into [The World of TOHOSHINKI].
During last year A-nation, JeJung mentioned that he kept looking out for TOHOSHINKI towel.
However, this year round, almost the whole audience was filled with TOHOSHINKI green towel.
JeJung was overwhelmed with thousand emotions, “I saw many of them. This year is the best!”
Almost 5 years after they debuted in Japan, they had successfully become Japan top artist.
Where would they head towards after this?

MBC's new drama "Heading to the Ground" in which TVXQ's leader Jung Yunho acts as the main lead, had recently posted its promotional pictures and teaser on its official website, creating a craze in netizens showing a huge interest towards the
said drama.
On the released poster where the four main actors posed, Yunho and Go Ara had "jumping" poses, showing their youth and energy. Aside from the pictures, the site had released amazing teasers, creating a little shock amongst the netizens. Seeing the number of hits the site had garnered, it's really as popular as the drama "Beethoven Virus" and the current drama "Queen Seon Deok." This proves that the audience are excited and has high expectations of the drama.
"Heading to the Ground" talks about a Cha Bong Goon (portrayed by Jung Yunho) who's clever, but not really sociable and likes to do things alone. Together with the girl of his dreams, Kang Hae Bin (acted by Go Ara), Bong Goon slowly changes and feels the happiness of love. This drama is talking about soccer and would be aired on MBC on the 9th of September.

TVXQ’s Activities in Japan is About 1.5 Billion

Click for full sizeIn regards to the long term contract and undisclosed earning percentage split problem, it had created an unfair contract. Tohoshinki’s 3 members finally decided to go through court to resolve this dispute with their agency SM Entertainment.
Recently, the 3 members of Tohoshinki had requested to have their earning percentage split in Japan’s documents without taking in much consideration.
It is said that Tohoshinki had debuted in Japan in 2005 and till now, 4 years had passed and each member’s earning in these 4 years could only reach about 1.5 billion. This is the first time that Tohoshinki’s earnings from their daily activities in Japan have been revealed.
Representatives had too expressed that SM JAPAN is a company that SM KOREA has 90% control over, and because of the matter over in SM Korea, it is said that it makes one suspricious of how SM Korea manages to pay for SM Japan too.
The members are rather confused over the whole percentage split earning because they have yet to see the whole real contract, according to SM in May revealed their financial status, SM Japan belongs around 93.5% to them. In regard to this matter, the public have raised questions.
Korean art schools professor, Lee Dong Ting said “Because of Tohoshinki’s activities in Japan, it had created a problem in percentage splitting. According to Tohoshinki’s agency, SM Japan and Avex would like to take in 50-50 of the earnings then between SM & SM Japan, another 50-50 in earning’s and in truth, Tohoshinki actually received only 1/4 of the earnings during these activities.
With an agenda of “Through Tohoshinki you could see that the companies system is full of problems and solutions were made,” Professor Lee also pointed out “SM JAPAN and SM been seen as 1 company is okay, therefore this kind of split for earning’s can bee seen as a dirty hand trick.” Professor Lee then said “The total amount that Tohoshinki is getting, being an artist and enjoying their reputation along with SM’s way of making use of the money in the name of ‘because it’s business’ (IE. Saying they need to pay their stylists etc) is not tallying with the reality calculation.”

The dreams of 5 people have finally been realized when TVXQ had their Japanese concert “The Secret Code”. At the start of the concert, Xiah Junsu suffered from an injury. However, all 5 members managed to overcome this obstacle and presented a fantastic concert for their fans. (Reported at 7.15 from the concert venue.)
Accomplishing your dreams, means that you have to believe in the words “I can do it”, and that you always have to believe that you can do it, no matter how difficult it is. Just by doing that, TVXQ has managed to accomplish their dreams.
Since the time they debut in Japan with “Stay With Me Tonight” in 2005, they have been saying that “We dream to hold a concert at Tokyo Dome one day”. After 4 years of hard work, they finally managed to realize their dream. Of course, they faced many obstacles in order to get to this stage. When they had their debut, they were not popular, and had to perform on small stages in night clubs. They used their sincerity to create new songs, and with every new song that was created by a member, they all felt that they were one step closer to getting to perform at the Tokyo Dome.
In order to gain more recognition from people, after 4 years of effort and hard work, they finally managed to hold a concert at the Tokyo Dome, where every single seat was filled up and the entire concert hall was filled up with fans. The hall was filled with all the fans’ screams, which gave encouragement and support, to TVXQ. This was TVXQ’s dream and this is what they deserved after those 4 years of hard work.
TVXQ opened the concert, “TOHOSHINKI 4TH LIVE TOUR 2009 The Secret Code FINAL in TOKYO DOME”, with [Secret Game] which comes from “The Secret Code”, their newly released 4th Album. Xiah Junsu, although injured, gave his all and danced very well. With this, the concert finally began. [Share the World] was also very exciting, and I feel that when everyone was dancing together in that song, it is a sight that was very pleasing to the eyes.
It’s thanks to everyone’s support that we are able to perform here at the Tokyo Dome (Xiah Junsu)
From [Share the world] to [Why Did I Fall in Love with You?], then to [Take Your hands], the atmosphere gradually became very high. They expressed their feelings by shouting “Everyone! Are all of you very high right now?!”. The fans shouted and screamed along, heightening the atmosphere of the concert. With the entire hall filled with red light sticks, [Stand Up!] and [9095]’s energetic performance were very much anticipated.
Changing from an outfit that was similar to English army soldiers’ uniforms, to a black outfit, they continuously sang [Force], [Purple Line] and [Jumon – Mirotic], causing the atmosphere to instantly hype up. Especially [Purple Line], where U-Know Yunho did a Michael Jackson’s dance. From the wonderful performances to the love that the audience felt while they performed, the impression left behind was very memorable. The 5 members then appeared in white to perform [Jumon – Mirotic]. They changed from a black outfit to a white one very quickly, which shocked the entire audience. The color of the clothes also contradicts each other.
Next was [Heart, Mind and Soul]. After the performance, Xiah Junsu said “It’s thanks to everyone’s support that we are able to perform here at the Tokyo Dome”. The 5 members, who have a very good relationship between themselves, started to chat comfortably with one another and also with the audience. They then performed [Wasurenaide], followed by the long awaited solo performances.
The first to perform was Xiah Junsu with [Xiahtic]. The powerful and sexy dance by Junsu caused the fans to scream non-stop. The second performance was [COLORS~ Melody and Harmony] which was composed and sung by Youngwoong Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun. The beautiful duet by the two of them caused the audience to melt under their amazing vocals and sing along with them, making the audience and members one. The third performance was [CHECKMATE] by U-Know Yunho who entered the stage by holding onto a pole which descended from the ceiling. His energetic and powerful performance was very suitable for the hyped up atmosphere at that point of time. Looking at U-Know Yunho’s sexy expressions, it gave the audience a refreshing feeling.
Another member who showed a different side of him was Choikang Changmin. At the Tokyo Dome, he performed the song with much charisma and showed the audience his manly side. Suddenly the atmosphere changed when Micky Yoochun started to play the piano, and all the members gathered beside him to perform the song [BEGIN]. U-Know Yunho, Youngwoong Jaejoong, Xiah Junsu and Chiokang Changmin all stood beside Micky Yoochun as he played the piano. Next was then [Nobody Knows]. Their sexy dance caused the audience to scream even louder. Using all the extended stages, the 5 members walked around the hall capturing the focus of every single person on them.
Then the 5 members sang [TAXI] with their amazing vocals. The sad lyrics accompanied by their voices which was full of emotions, touched the audience. Then it was [Forever Love], followed by [O. Jung. Ban. Hap], which started off with a powerful dance by U-Know Yunho. The end of the concert was nearing, and it felt as if the Tokyo Dome was going to get destroyed with the sizzling atmosphere.
The members then changed to bright colourful clothes and performed [Choosey Lover] and [Sky] which gave off a “summer feel”. Then they moved on to perform [Somebody To Love] and [Summer Dream]. Never stopping, the members continued to perform [Survivor] and showed the audience their powerful and slick dance moves. Under the continuous shout of “ENCORE!” from the fans, the members got on cars which were driven around the stage in order to reach out to all the fans all over Tokyo Dome.
The members then sang one last song [Stand By U] to thank all their fans. All the fans then raised their blue light sticks to surprise the members with the amazing sight. After the encore, the members and the fans both could not bear to leave. This was the night where the 5 members finally accomplished their dreams after 4 years of hard work. TVXQ had their debut in Japan with a stage that only had approximately 200 people as an audience. However, they have put in their best and managed to touch person by person with their amazing voices.
Finally, they managed to hold a concert in the Tokyo Dome, which gathered over 100,000 people in 2 days. Since their debut, they have never stopped working hard in order to accomplish their dream. Tokyo Dome is only a new beginning, they still have many dreams that they want to realize. The 5 members kept on saying “thank you very much” on stage. The fans must have also felt very thankful to TVXQ for giving them such a great performance. No matter who, the person must have felt thankful to them, I’ll be anticipating and waiting for them to accomplish their next dream, just like that night.

TVXQ Voted Most Popular Idol Award

In Sports Chosun’s “Idol Award” held on the 19th, TVXQ was the most popular and claimed the number one spot with total votes of 55,899 (36.5%), over Big Bang’s 40,792 (26.6%). Super Junior came in third with 33,132 (21.6%) votes.
The voting for the award began on the 6th, and was held for 2 weeks, and the number of people voting was astonishing as the numbers kept increasing. Especially with TVXQ and Big Bang, once the voting started, the fans immediately went into an all-out war.
