U-know: most popular among ajumma fans

During May 10’s episode of KBS2 “Entertainment Relay,” TVXQ was asked which of its members is most popular among “ajumma” fans. According to the members of the popular quintet, U-know is the most popular among this fan bracket. U-know was also said as the most popular member in Japan, courtesy of his “ajumma” fans. U-know then joked about his popularity among ajummas and said, “I’m calling out to noona fans.” Meanwhile, TVXQ just finished its 3rd LIVE TOUR 2008 ~T~ that attracted more than 150,000 fans. Moreover, tickets to this tour were sold out in just a second.

TVXQ Tops Japanese Oricon Chart

Popular male vocal group TVXQ recently reached the top of the Japanese Oricon Chart.The group's 22nd single "Beautiful You" ranked number one on the Oricon daily chart the day it was released on April 23. The song also ranked number one on the May 5 weekly chart.With "Beautiful You" topping the Japanese Oricon Chart, TVXQ has become the first Asian group to do so in the 24 years and five months since "Love is Over," sung by a Taiwanese female artist, topped the chart in December, 1983.TVXQ is currently on a nationwide tour in Japan, performing in a total of 17 concerts in front of 150,000 fans. The grand finale of TVXQ's "TVXQ 3rd Live Tour 2008-T" will take place at the Super Arena in Saitama on May 6.Asian and even European fans are expected to flock to the final performance which will be held over Japan's long weekend.

TVXQ to Release Brand New Single Album

The popular idol group TVXQ will release its 22nd single "Beautiful You" on April 23.After releasing its third studio album in January, the group has been releasing a series of singles with the member taking turns as the main vocalist. "Beautiful You" will be TVXQ's seventh single album this year.The latest single features the theme song from "The Story of the First King's Four Gods," a historical drama series starring Bae Yong-joon, which began airing in Japan on NHK on April 5.According to the April 12th edition of Japan's Oricon News, female music listeners in their 20s and 40s were most interested in the soon-to-be-released single album. Compared to the seven singles that were released last year, the six singles that were released this year as of March had a recognition rate of 69.8 percent versus 56.7 percent.Oricon News said the consecutive releases of the single albums as well as the popularity of the historical drama series are expected to boost the sales of the latest single.TVXQ included Korean and Japanese versions of the drama theme song "Cheonnyeonyeonga." Kangta: “TVXQ not given the credit…”

Kangta’s guesting in KBS Cool FM “Yoon Do Hyun’s Music Show” last March 26 was a fun and touching one.
The fun part was when the staff made an on-air call with TVXQ without Kangta initially knowing who was really on the phone. U-Know was actually on the phone but changed his voice and impersonated a hardcore Kangta fan.
“Who are you and where are you from?” asked Kangta.
“I’m Kim Won Joong from Incheon,” U-Know said, without Kangta noticing who he was really talking to. When U-Know eventually made himself known, Kangta was overjoyed.
It was also during this radio show’s episode that Kangta praised TVXQ’s abilities and expressed that TVXQ is better than H.O.T.
“TVXQ is not being given the credit they deserve because they’re seen as an idol group.”
When Yoon Do Hyun asked what kind of a senior Kangta is, TVXQ answered, “Like a father. It’s very reassuring that we’ve got a senior who’s like a father but it’s really sad that he’ll be going to the army.”
Before enlisting on April 1, Kangta is going to hold concerts on the 29th and 30th.

TVXQ elected as the President of the Republic of Korean Music

Click for full sizeFamous group TVXQ was elected as the President of the Republic of Korean Music. This virtual presidential election started from October 23 until December 11 and was organized by the cable channel MTV. Among thirty candidates, TVXQ monopolized the election and recorded 43.9% of votes whereas the second and third placers were Jang Woo Hyuk and BIG BANG, respectively.
